Even then, I may need to push the shadows quite a bit during post-processing to get a balanced image.īut dragging slides to the right in Lightroom can multiply the noise created by the high ISO. When I shoot without a tripod in low light, I sometimes have to crank the ISO to avoid blurry images and still have an acceptable exposure while keeping the shutter speed at about 1/125 sec. I like to underexpose my images in-camera about ⅓ to ½ stop or shoot for the highlights because I know I can bring the shadows and the darks back when I later edit in Lightroom. ![]() But I assume that since you are here and reading this, you are pretty serious about photography, and you already do. ![]() The prerequisite to fixing high ISO noise in your images and many other minor issues is to shoot RAW.
